The Return of J Crossover

This afternoon, the Brooklyn Nets finally decided to fill one of their three open roster spots by signing veteran shooting guard, Jamal Crawford. Crawford, 40, will be entering the NBA bubble as the oldest player in the league since the Hawks and Vince Carter were not invited. Crawford was a free agent throughout the entire season despite dropping 28 points (9/21 FG), 27 points (9/17 FG) and 51 points (18/30 FG) in his final three games with the Phoenix Suns in 2019. These three games were not just Kobe-last game type games where he just took every shot possible. He clearly has some gas left in the tank. The three time 6th man of the year will most likely come off the bench as he has the majority of his later years of his career, but its almost a guarantee he provides a major scoring boost to the debilitated Nets team. Most of all, I think his veteran presence will be the will make the most impact on the Nets. The current Nets squad has has seven players 25 years old or younger so I'm hoping Crawford has a strong impact on those guys especially, Caris Levert. Similarly to Crawford, Levert is a pure scorer and will be a amazing option off the bench if he doesn't start for the Nets next year. Crawford's signature behind the back, hop step is a move Levert could certainly add to his repertoire. All in all, myself and so many other NBA fans are just excited to see J Crossover get back on the court as he was well deserving of this opportunity. The Nets now have two remaining roster spots to fill. One is almost definitely a center as Jarrett Allen is the only rostered center and the other will most likely be a forward. Michael Beasley, the 2nd overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, has emerged as the front runner to be the fill the forward spot on the Nets. Stay tuned tomorrow for more news in sports.
