Here are my award predictions for the 2020 NFL Season.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Joe Burrow - This was an easy pick. The number one overall pick will lead his team that was 2-14 to 6-10 and exhibit how much potential he has to be a star. The Bengals may have even one a few more games if they had a defense.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: AJ Epenesa - I was really high on this kid in my mock drafts and he fell to the Bills at 54 which was one of the biggest steals in my opinion. I am not sure he have a good of a career as fellow lineman Chase Young and Derrick Brown but I definitely see him having a strong rookie campaign on that very strong Bills defense.
Offensive Player of the Year: Dak Prescott - After leading his team to a 13-3 record and earing the one seed in the NFC, Prescott is definitely deserving of this award. His numbers will be off the charts as he has some of the best weapons along side him and he may just get a huge contract after this season if he hasn't been extended already. I cannot see the Cowboys letting Prescott loose.
Defensive Player of the Year: Aaron Donald - the guy is just simply too good to not be deserving of it. I understand why Stephon Gilmore got the award last year but I have a feeling it's going back to Donald this year. He is literally as close to unguardable as it gets.
Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year: Kyle Rudolph - Just a guess. He seems like a good guy.
Comeback Player of the Year: AJ Green - I think he has a lot to prove after being franchise tagged by the Bengals and with Burrow at quarterback, I think he will have a great season. Not the old AJ Green but still a top 20 receiver in the league.
Coach of the Year: Mike McCarthy - I can't think of anyone more deserving of this award. McCarthy will lead the Cowboys to the best record in the NFC in his first year coaching the team. This ultimately just shows how bad of a coach Jason Garrett is more than it shows how good McCarthy is. Everybody already knows McCarthy is a solid coach but he is well deserving of this award as he wins it for the first time.
Most Valuable Player: Russell Wilson - This is his year. He has never received a single MVP vote but has been a top five quarterback the last 5 or so years. That makes no sense. Wilson will throw for 4500 yards and 38 touchdowns in addition to his elite ability to scramble when under pressure. Finally, Wilson will get the recognition he deserves but unfortunately, it wasn't Seattle's year this year.
Make sure to look out for tomorrow's blog as we conclude the series with the Super Bowl between the Dallas Cowboys and the defending champs in the Kansas City Chiefs.
Not a chance Dak wins OPOY. No way
