Zion

Casually scrolling through Instagram and then I see this...

"Zion Williamson has been announced as the NBA 2K21 Next Gen Cover Athlete"

And of course my response is what the actual fuck? Zion is a great player. He was one of the most dominant college basketball players we have seen in a long time. He was extremely obviously going to be the number one pick of the draft and was very solid when he returned this season from his injuries. But the man is still a rookie and arguably Ja had a much better season than Zion. And now sports center and NBA 2K need to make up random awards to give to Zion to make him feel good. I don't think there's anything more that pisses me off than something like this. The Pelicans have already got the easiest schedule of the NBA playoffs with 4 of the 8 teams they are playing not even being in the playoffs as of now, The NBA is just praying they can find a way to get Zion in the playoffs and now they want to give him more recognition by calling him the next gen athlete for the 2K cover. Screw this. He hasn't proved himself yet and shouldn't be handed anything. If anything at all, all this praise is just going to get in his head and he will suck when the NBA returns and for the rest of his career. I'm not a Zion hater. But does he really deserve this?
