A long ass American Race

Updated: Jul 9, 2020

Merica. That seems like one good way to summarize Nascar. To be completely honest, I've never been a huge fan of any type of racing besides horses of course but since there's nothing else to watch I tuned into NASCAR last night and it was pretty fun to watch. It was the Coca Cola 600 making it a 600 mile race which is extremely long for a race plus there was about a two hour rain delay 50 laps in making it the longest race by time in NASCAR Cup Series history. So nothing out of the ordinary really happened except for the ending. The rules of NASCAR basically say that if the race finishes on a caution flag than there is a two lap overtime to decide a winner. So after racing for 400 laps, 2 laps decide the fate of these racers. And that's what ended up happening because one idiot driver blew out his tire. So the man who should've won the race Chase Eliott who was leading at the end of the 400 laps was screwed. basically he needed to go into the pits to get new tires and fuel because he wasn't planning for a race for over 400 miles. And if he would've stayed out on the track, he would've been passed by the guys behind him. So as Jeff Gordon said you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. he was referring to going into the pits. So Chase was screwed. And the one NASCAR driver who for some reason I just don't like ended up winning. Brad Keslowski. I really don't know why I don't like him. he just gives off a bad vibe to me. So stupid how a guy who didn't lead the whole race ends up winning after about 5 hours of racing.
