Checking out the Young Blood

My homie Drew had an end of year assignment for school in which he needed to write a blog based on a podcast. He chose to listen to the Skip and Shannon: Undisputed podcast. Below is his blog.

I listened to the podcast “Best of” by Skip and Shannon and it was 50 minutes. This podcast had to do with sports. The sports that were talked about were football and basketball. This was very interesting because at first, they talked about the L.A rivalry. The Lakers and the Clippers are the teams in Los Angeles and they both have good chances to go far in the playoffs. They both represent Los Angeles so it is a battle to see who will win the L.A area. I am a big Laker fan so I was really interested in this. “The Lakers will win this if their bench steps up”-Skip. I question this because that will help but cannot be the key. The key to winning is everyone plays as a team and plays hard. This will be a great game and hopefully, the Lakers will come out with the victory.

The football conversation really hit me. They talked about former NFL player Antonio Brown and if he will get into the NFL again. This man Antonio is a hardworking dude but not all coaches love him. He will go down as one of the best wide receivers but still has years to play. They wonder if he will get signed on to a team after getting cut for how he acted and what he said . Shannon says “This dude is very hardworking and I believe he will get in. He will talk to people and better himself so he can get back on that field.” I completely agree with what Shannon had said.

This was Drew's first time writing a blog and it certainly has some good ideas. I really like how he includes quotes and then analyzes them with his own thoughts. This is a very good skill for an amateur blogger. I actually happen to agree with him when he refutes Skip's claim about the Lakers bench. You know what your going to get from Lebron: A dominant performance night in and night out. I think the key down the stretch will be Anthony Davis. Davis does not have any playoff experience passed the second round so it will be interesting to see if he can perform to his highest potential. He will likely be guarded by Kawhi Leonard who his one of the best defenders in the league if the Clippers and Lakers happen to meet in the Western Conference finals so that will be a a great matchup. I think the Lakers role players will be solid. They've been solid all year but they will be without Avery Bradley who is opting to spend time with his family instead. Former teammate of Lebron James, J.R. Smith has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Bradley's spot. Transitioning over to Antonio Brown, I also agree with what Drew said. Brown is already on the right track as he has been talking to teams such as the Seahawks and Ravens. If he can become a stable locker room presence, teams will be all over him. If not, he will rip up the team from the inside. Overall, I think Drew has potential to become a solid blogger one day if he keeps working. I am not a perfect blogger but writing every day has certainly improved my skills.
