Chicago Bears Season Outlook

The Chicago Bears had a mediocre 8-8 record in what was supposed to be a breakout year for the entire team. They were the fourth favorite to win the Super Bowl and Trubisky was the most bet on player to win MVP at Ceaser's Palace. The Bears definitely had the top ranked defense coming into the season and they were bound to bounce back after losing via the infamous double doink. However, Mitch Trubisky did not break out like he was supposed and many began to wonder if he was the quarterback of the future for the Bears. Clearly, the Bears aren't very confident in Trubisky as they went out to trade for former Super Bowl MVP, Nick Foles. The Bears are literally the Jaguars just a year later. Jaguars - 2017: great defense, made playoffs. 2018: High expectations, missed playoffs. 2019: Sign Nick Foles, missed playoffs again. Bears - 2018: great defense, made playoffs. 2019: high expectations, missed playoffs. 2020: Trade for Nick Foles, miss playoffs possibly? I don't think anything will change from last years team to this year so I would expect the Bears to miss the playoffs again. Below is my regular season prediction for the Chicago Bears.

Week 1: @ Detroit Lions - loss

Week 2: vs. New York Giants - loss

Week 3: @ Atlanta Falcons - loss

Week 4: vs. Indianapolis Colts - win

Week 5: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - win

Week 6: @ Carolina Panthers - loss

Week 7: @ Los Angeles Rams - loss

Week 8: vs. New Orleans Saints - loss

Week 9: @ Tennessee Titans - loss

Week 10: vs. Minnesota Vikings - win

Week 11: Bye Week

Week 12: @ Green Bay Packers - loss

Week 13: vs. Detroit Lions - win

Week 14: vs. Houston Texans - win

Week 15: @ Minnesota Vikings - loss

Week 16: @ Jacksonville Jaguars - loss

Week 17: vs. Green Bay Packers - loss

I have the Bears going 5-11 and most definitely missing out on this year's playoffs. However, I think the Bears beat some quality teams in the Colts, Texans, Vikings, and Buccaneers because their defense has potential to be good but will not be consistent enough to win many games. The Bears worse loss of the season comes in week 15 against the Jaguars and it will be the only Jaguars win of the season. Not only is this a time for the Jaguars to prove Nick Foles wouldn't have made a difference, but it also is the last Jaguars home game of the season and they will lighten up because they know they suck. The Jaguars will squeak out a win and embarrass the Bears.

*At the end of this series, once I have gone through every team, I will give my playoff predictions as well as season awards.*
