We have now reached the Conference Championships. In the AFC, the one and two seed in the Chiefs and Ravens respectively are facing off. In the NFC, the one and three seed in the Cowboys and Seahawks respectively are facing off. Both should be phenomenal games so let's get right to it.
AFC Conference Championship
Baltimore Ravens (13-3) @ Kansas City Chiefs (14-2)
This is the most highly anticipated conference championship I can remember in years. Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes are the two most recent MVP winners and are the new faces of the NFL. These two will battle in the AFC for many years to come and this is only the first time so it's going to be very exciting. In week three of the regular season, the Chiefs visit the Ravens and I have the Ravens bringing home the victory. There is something about Mahomes in Arrowhead stadium that makes him look unbeatable. The Chiefs have one more year of experience than the Ravens and I think they ultimately get their revenge from the loss in week three of the regular season. Chiefs win 41- 37. This is going to be an absolute showdown between Mahomes and Jackson and as a football fan, you just got sit and appreciate the excellent offense that is portrayed in this game.
NFC Conference Championship
Seattle Seahawks (11-5) @ Dallas Cowboys (13-3)
The Cowboys have finally at least made the NFC Conference Championship after a 24 year drought. Meanwhile, Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, who have been so consistently good year in and year out, haven't appeared in the conference championship since the 2014-2015 season when they beat the Packers in an overtime thriller in Century Link Field. Neither team's goal is to make it to this game though. It's to win this game and the one after that. Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson were both big contenders for MVP this year (but you'll have to wait for tomorrow's blog to find out which one, if either of them get it). These two teams faced off in week three in Seattle and the Seahawks got the best of the Cowboys. This game will be much different however, given that Dallas has home field advantage. A quick little fun fact, prior to this year's playoffs, Dak Prescott's only playoff win comes against the Seahawks. The Cowboys went all in this year by stacking their defensive line and adding key pieces to their secondary and I think it will pay off. At least for now. Cowboys win 30-24 and they advance to their first Super Bowl since the 1995-1996 season.
Super Bowl LV
Dallas Cowboys vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Above is your Super Bowl matchup. Yes it is the two one seeds, but they are also the two best teams from their respective conferences in my opinion. In tomorrow's blog I will be announcing season awards and then Sunday will be my Super Bowl analysis. I've had a lot of fun writing this series of NFL predictions and I am looking forward to the last two days of it.
*It's interesting how both conference championship matchups occurred in week three of the regular season and that the winner of week three lost in the conference championship.*
I gotta disagree withy the NFC cause there is a clear bias towards the Cowboys. Seahawks will make the super bowl don’t @ me.
