Dallas Cowboys Season Outlook

The Cowboys went 8-8 just as it seems they did every year under head coach Jason Garrett. Fortunately, the Cowboys finally got rid of Garrett as they are now ready to seriously compete this year. They hired former Packers coach, Mike McCarthy, who has won a Super Bowl and it just so happened to be in AT&T Stadium (the Cowboys home field). In addition to getting a huge upgrade at head coach, the Cowboys are better on both sides of the ball this year. They stole Ceedee Lamb in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft with the 17th pick which now gives them undeniably the best wide receiver trio in the league. Next, Although they lost pro bowl corner back, Byron Jones, they signed four former pro bowl defensemen in Gerald McCoy, Dontari Poe, Aldon Smith, and Ha Ha Clinton Dix. The Cowboys are primed to make a run for the Lombardi trophy this year. Below is my regular season prediction for the Dallas Cowboys.

Week 1: @ Los Angeles Rams - win

Week 2: vs. Atlanta Falcons - win

Week 3: @ Seattle Seahawks - loss

Week 4: vs. Cleveland Browns - win

Week 5: vs. New York Giants - win

Week 6: vs. Arizona Cardinals - win

Week 7: @ Washington Redskins - win

Week 8: @ Philadelphia Eagles - win

Week 9: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers - win

Week 10: Bye Week

Week 11: @ Minnesota Vikings - loss

Week 12: vs. Washington Redskins - win

Week 13: @ Baltimore Ravens - loss

Week 14: @ Cincinnati Bengals - win

Week 15: vs. San Francisco 49ers - win

Week 16: vs. Philadelphia Eagles - win

Week 17: @ New York Giants - win

I have the Cowboys going 13-3 this year which certainly gives them the NFC East title and potentially earns them the one seed in the NFC although there are many good teams that are capable of putting up a record like that. I want to point out the Cowboys loss to the Seahawks in week three. The Seahawks are one of those teams that thrive at home because of their fans. Now, with the coronavirus going on it is possible we don't see fans during games this season. I think the Cowboys are a better all around team than the Seahawks and will beat them if there are no fans allowed but I'm writing all of these predictions assuming conditions are normal. Another great game is in week six when the Cowboys host the Cardinals. Like the Cowboys, the Cardinals also have a very improved team by trading for star receiver, DeAndre Hopkins and drafting the very versatile defender in Isaiah Simmons in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Besides the previous two MVPs in Patrick mahomes and Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott and Kyler Murray are certainly the next two favorites after that. This should be a very fun game and I have the Cowboys winning by double digits in a high scoring game. A couple of other Cowboys games were highlighted in the full season preview. *At the end of this series, once I have gone through every team, I will give my playoff predictions as well as season awards.*
