Everyone's favorite kind of announcement is the one that announces a future announcement. Who doesn't love being teased with an announcement of an announcement? We received some breaking news earlier tonight when the world was told that tomorrow would mark the announcement of a name change coming to the Washington Redskins. The Skins couldn't wait until tomorrow to simply tell us what the name would be, they have to tell us that they will be telling us tomorrow and leave us on the cliffhanger of the premise that they will be changing their name. At this point I guess we can say any news in the sports world is exciting news. Beggars can't be choosers. But at the same time this was one of the most boring "breaking news" pieces of all time. There is not one person on this world that believed the Redskins were going to continue to play football with no sponsors and an angry mob coming after the team. Shout out to the best reporters in the world who first reported on the news of this announcement. They are truly doing a great job and should continue to be able to work for their companies. Oh wait. Who has done a great job their whole career but was just suspended from reporting? Woj. Everyone loves Woj. The man is absolutely harmless and breaks news before the people involved in the news even know what's going to happen. And now two words have nearly ruined this man's career. Truly a shame. But I expect nothing else from ESPN. Free Woj and stop making announcements of announcements.
