Yup, that's what Vince Carter said. Did you ever think it would happen? It seemed like the day would never come but it just did. Vince became the first player in NBA history just a couple months ago to play in four different decades. He stands atop the leaderboard for most seasons played at 22. Over those 22 seasons, Vince played for eight different teams: Raptors, Nets, Magic, Suns, Mavericks, Grizzlies, Kings, and Hawks. Personally, I think Vince Carter is very overrated but maybe it's just because I never saw him in his prime. After his final season with the Nets (2008-2009), Vince did not average over 17 points per game in his final 11 seasons whereas he averaged over 20 points per game in his first 11 seasons with the Raptors and Nets except for his rookie year. So there you have it; I was too young to see him when he was actually good. His last 11 seasons certainly destroyed his career averages in most stat categories. Especially these past six seasons where he averaged less than 18 minutes per game all but one year. I commend Vince for not caring about his stats though. He showed his love for the game by returning each year even though he knew he wasn't at his best. I have also heard he was a great mentor for young players around the league. Vince will go out as an 8x NBA Allstar, 2x All NBA, 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year, and 2000 Dunk Contest Champion. He also finished 19th in career points with 25,728. It's a shame Vince never won an NBA Championship throughout his long career, but nonetheless, he will certainly go down as a Hall of Famer.
