Minnesota Vikings Season Outlook

The Minnesota Vikings went 10-6 last year and earned themselves a wild card in the playoffs. They upset the Saints in the wild card round which was an opportunity for the Saints to get back at the Vikings after the Minneapolis Mirracle two years prior. This offseason, the Vikings traded Stefon Diggs to Bills for many draft picks, one of which was a 2020 first rounder where the Vikings hope they found Diggs' replacement in Justin Jefferson. Jefferson was the top target for Heisman winner, Joe Burrow, last year and he hopes he can establish as strong as of connection with Kirk Cousins as he did with Burrow. I don't think the Vikings improved enough to make them serious contenders but they can definitely compete on a game game basis. Below is my regular season prediction for the Minnesota Vikings.

Week 1: vs. Green Bay Packers - win

Week 2: @ Indianapolis Colts - loss

Week 3: vs. Tennessee Titans - win

Week 4: @ Houston Texans - loss

Week 5: @ Seattle Seahawks - loss

Week 6: vs. Atlanta Falcons - win

Week 7: Bye Week

Week 8: @ Green Bay Packers - loss

Week 9: vs. Detroit Lions - win

Week 10: @ Chicago Bears - loss

Week 11: vs. Dallas Cowboys - win

Week 12: vs. Carolina Panthers - win

Week 13: vs. Jacksonville Jaguars - win

Week 14: @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers - loss

Week 15: vs. Chicago Bears - win

Week 16: @ New Orleans Saints - loss

Week 17: @ Detroit Lions - win

I have the Vikings going 9-7 which is not a guarantee to earn them a wild card spot but it certainly could be enough. I think the matchup against the Colts in week two will be a fantastic game. Both teams are very well balanced i think the winner of the game will just be abuot who wants it more. Personally, I think Rivers and the Colts run the two minute drill to kick a game winning field goal as time expires. The Vikings most impressive win certainly comes at home in week 11 against the Dallas Cowboys. I think this game will be very competitive just like it was last year when the Vikings won 28-24. This year I expect it to be lower scoring but the Vikings still capturing that win.

*At the end of this series, once I have gone through every team, I will give my playoff predictions as well as season awards.*
