After Coach Duggs grabbed his second National Championship earlier this week, it was announced today that the legendary College Football coach had suffered a heart attack and has been placed on life support. This news was originally reported by Jake Marsh and later confirmed by Daniel Katz. This news was broken on the same day that it was announced that three members of the Toledo City Council were arrested for accepting bribes. As a top blogger, I am not allowed to believe in coincidences. Coach Duggs shocked the world a little more than a week ago when he decided to return back to his roots and travel back up north to the MAC and coach for Toledo. After winning a National Championship for Tennessee, it was completely unexpected that Duggs would not go to another Power 5 school. So the only question that can be asked now is were the people who were bribing the Toledo City Councilman also bribing future Hall of Fame College Football Coach, Coach Duggs. While there is not much convincing evidence for this conspiracy theory, I can only wonder is there some sort of connection. Toledo is not the place that makes national news every day. I find it extremely odd that they make the national news not once, but twice on this day. I am not one to question the personal choices of Coach Duggs but why return to Toledo and give up the chance to coach at another Power 5 school including a Big 10 school which had been Coach Dugg's dream in the past. We will monitor this situation as it progresses.
