The Downfall of the British

Updated: Jul 9, 2020

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus and is self-isolating in Downing Street.

He said he had experienced mild symptoms over the past 24 hours, including a temperature and cough, but would continue to lead the government.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said he had also tested positive while England's Chief Medical Officer, Prof Chris Whitty, has shown symptoms.

Could this mark the end of British rule? As prince Charles and the prime minister Boris Johnson have been confirmed as positives for the coronavirus, I think it is more than likely we are seeing the start of the downfall of the British monarchy. The Britihs royal palace has refused to make any statements regarding the queen and the coronavirus. However, both prince Charles and prime minister johnson both recently met with the queen. Sadly, to say this queen is not gonna make it if she gets this virus. The queen is now 93 years old and although she is apparently in excellent health, this coronavirus doesn’t discriminate even against the most powerful in the world. The queen’s death will most likely be the largest funeral the world has ever seen. Let us remember the queen is celebrated as a monarch throughout the whole world and not just in England. She is even on the currency for our neigbors to the north. So if this funeral is as big as expected, what could be the side effects? If all the British people congregate together on the streets it is more than likely this coronavirus will rapidly spread throughout the whole population. But if the British people don’t have a funeral to pay their respects, it basically symbolizes how no one even cares about the monarchy. This dilemma will most likely be the downfall of the British monarchy as we know it.
