The Last Dance and does MJ have regrets?

Updated: Jul 9, 2020

The last segment of Episode 7 of The Last Dance featured something we usually don't see. Michael Jordan broke down into tears describing what seemed to be his view of how he wanted his teammates to act at practice and during games. This has been the first time we've seen Michael break down throughout the whole doc even though his eyes have been pretty red the whole time. Interesting. For some reason as I was watching that last scene of Episode 7 I had a bit of a weird gut feeling. MJ has just watched his whole basketball career over again in a 10 part doc series so it would be crazy to say that he wouldn't get a bit emotional over all of the memories. Except its a bit odd that he started crying when he was describing his expectations for his teammates rather than discussing the passing of his father or other sad developments in his life. So is it possible MJ may have some regrets? Yes with a capital Y. After watching all of the mistakes you have made it is only natural to regret them. The only problem is Michael has come to far down the road of being the guy who was always the hardest worker and the guy who would always push you the hardest to turn back now. But I'm willing to bet that even though he says he doesn't, MJ certainly regrets moments like tormenting his teammates or even punching Steve Kerr. This is why he broke down crying. Not because of his expectations, but because there is a part of him that came out that felt that maybe alienating himself from his team in a way that could never be taken back maybe wasn't worth it. Rings on a finger, even if you have enough for both hands, don't mean anything if you can't say you loved the people you got them with.
