So obviously this movie came out about 1 year ago but it finally came out on Netflix which means that I watched it. This is the kind of movie that I simply felt like I needed to watch because of the kind of person that I am. A gambler. And honestly I was kind of disappointed. The whole premise revolved around a rock which is already stupid. And the gambling parts of it were just so predicable because of course we know he is going to win. The ending *spoiler alert* was not predictable and honestly I was shocked to see Howie get shot in the face but if I was locked inside a cage for three hours sweating my balls off and I had a gun I would also probably shoot Howie in the face too. And Howie is an idiot for buzzing those guys back in. Like did he think they were suddenly going to be happy because he hit his KG parlay. It really just was a stupid story and bad acting except for Adam Sandler. I think KG should stick to basketball and retire from his Hollywood career. I honestly wish it got more personal with KG and somehow he could've been more connected to the Ethiopians who mine the rocks. Then it would've been more personal and it would've explained why KG needed the rock so badly. Making a movie about a gambler is extremely good in theory but Uncut Gems kind of ruined the potential. As unfortunate as it is to right this I am only speaking the truth. A solid B movie, but no more than that.
